Weber 40020 Smokey Joe Gold Charcoal Grill

This grill is the best thing ever. I have just moved into a small apartment and love to grill. The only thing was that i did not have the space on a balcony. All i had were window sills. So i bought this grill and it works perfectly. If you love to BBQ then this is the weber for you. Perfect for a day at the beach, a day in the park. What ever you want to do you can use this grill. Also when you use charcoal the food just tastes better. Using gas takes all the fun out of grilling your fav cut of meat. Stop wanting everyhting now now now and take your time. Enjoy the slowness of cooking for once. With this grill you can.

I bought this grill here on Amazon a few months ago and the price was great, being that the Silver model sold locally for the same price.
I've used it a few times to cook for my wife and I and seem to be having a hard time keeping the coal lit even though I keep all the vents open. At first I used to place aluminum foil on the bottom (as another reviewer suggested for ease of cleaning) but a Weber's customer rep instructed me to not do that to allow the air to flow. Last two times I haven't used the foil but still having problems keeping the coal burning unless I keep the lid off which defeats the purpose. Weber also told me it could be that the coal is humid so I'm still in the experimenting stage. If anyone later has any advise I'd appreciate it.

Weber's Smokey Joe Grill is a real performer. We are so pleased we purchased one of these. We cook a lot on the grill weather permitting. The Smokey Joe Grill fires up quick. The Smokey Joe Grill also cooks up burgers, hotdogs and steaks evenly and in short order to perfection. I really mean it. We love it. The food is ready in no time. The Smokey Joe Grill is really an efficient unit and is quite innocuous in appearance. It is quite mobile and seems to fit anywhere for use or storage. It is actually quite amazing. We have noticed that we use less charcoal, lighter fluid, save time, get better tasting food and save time on cleanup. We own two depending on how much we are going to cook. The smaller units are perfect for two people or a third or even a forth if somebody happens to stop by.

This is a very good little grill; we have been consistently happy with both it's quality and its dependability.

Great grill cooks quickly and evenly. There is a slightly larger unit that can be used for indirect cooking, but this one works just fine for steaks, hamburgers and the like. This is my third Smokey Joe and I will buy another when this one gets ratty enough.
