Mr. Bar-B-Q Cast-Iron Wok

This is a fantastic wok. It has a round bottom on the inside and a flat bottom on the outside so it fits on a flattop stove with no problems. It's the closest your gonna get to a traditional thin-steel wok on this kind of stove. HOWEVER, the fist time I heated this thing up it emitted some seriously noxious fumes. A the *least* you need to throughly wash the thing (with soap) before you use it. A better option would be to totally re-season it. The factory seasoning can be removed by running it through your oven's self-cleaning cycle. This will turn the existing seasoning to ash which you can easily wash off.

I bought the wok for my son as a Christmas present since he loves to cook stir-fry recipes. He loves it! It is just the right size for everything that he cooks, and is easy to clean. Best of all, because of it's construction, we know that it will last a long time.

This is a great, heavy duty (and heavy weighing) wok. I love it and am so happy it came with instructions on how to season it. Used it a few times and it's holding up really well. I am not sure I bothered reading the size of this wok, but like I always do I try to get items with free shipping (because normaly free shipping does not take long to get to my neighborhood). I was suprise to see when it came in how large it really was pound per pound it was cheaper then most of the cast iron I have purchased.

I love cast iron because you don't have to worry about any added chemicals (though you do get extra iron in your diet :-) ), its cook ware for life, and its not really hard to clean. Since I am not a big fan of gas stove, I get even heating on electric range from my cast iron cook ware.

Had a strange smelling oil on the wok when it arrived which was hard to remove.

But otherwise this is a great little wok. I use it for roasting coffee on our grill! The heavy cast iron does a great job of evenly distributing heat and preventing hot spots which is key to getting a consistent roast.
