works with small tank
I have the baby Q, and bought a small one gallon, number 5 tank. I had the tank purged and filled for 3$. i wanted a small tank, why have a portable grill if the tank is so heavy. My mom can even lift a one gallon.
Hooked this cable up, I don't know why someone thought it tedious to wait one minute before turning on the Q. Thats just the way it is.
What are people grilling that spatters 6 feet?
So its was a good buy. AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A 20 LB TANK to enjoy your Baby Q.

animals chewing on hose
Wrap your hose in a few layers of aluminum foil, making sure to leave it kind of wadded up---not smooth. Animals don't seem to like it, and will avoid chewing even if it is coated in tasty grease. 2007-07-02

Animals chew through my hose
I've had this hose only two weeks and some animal chewed through the hose. I think it was a squirrel. Some of the other reviews say not to let food/grease fall on to the hose, but I've had it only two weeks and my hose is very clean. The squirrels still chewed through the hose. I think Weber used a very tasty rubber or something. Do not buy this hose if you intended to leave your grill outside. 2007-06-11

Works great, but it's true about the damn squirrels
I bought this hose because I, like everyone who bought it, got tired of replacing the 14.1 oz. propane cylinders. One night while grilling, my last one ran out of gas before I was done cooking, and that settled it.
I picked this up and a Blue Rhino tank, and it worked beautifully. I felt great that I no longer had to worry about running out of gas.
I even kept a small cylinder as back up. I thought my plan was brilliant.
Until the squirrels came.
The next time I fired up the grill, I smelled propane in the air, and worried their was a leak I had not noticed. After inspecting the tank, I heard the gas coming from the hose, and discovered two new holes in it that appeared to be gnawed upon. I was pissed off.
The next day, I went to Home Depot and bought another hose, but this time, I didn't allow it to hang. I wrapped it around the tank, and covered the grill with the largest grill-cover that Weber makes for the Q.
The grill cover looks beautiful, but it does not deter the furry-tailed little demonic eating machines.
Last night, I came home, and prepared to fire up some ribs on the grill while my brother and I had a few beers, but lo and behold, another damn leak!
This time, I caught the little jerk in the act! I saw the squirrel leap away from the grill, look me in the eye, and by God, I could have sworn he smiled at me! I'm sure it was in my imagination, but it appeared the squirrel took some sort of morbid pleasure in ruining my BBQ.
He was mistaken though, for how could he have known that I had a back-up cylinder in my pantry? He didn't, and thankfully, I continued my BBQ in spite of the little jerk.
I however, am out $50 bones for TWO adapter hoses, that while work excellent (which is why I still rate it 5 stars), but are like crack for squirrels.
Get this, if somehow you can protect it from these furry little hose-eaters.

Great after fixing problem
Adapter hose worked OK at first. Then developed problem like others describe with no light off. Would not reset per the instructions. Discovered the end of hose that plugs into BBQ has a schrader valve that had screwed itself all the way in, so far that it could not be offset open when plugged into BBQ. Just took a small pointed tool (valve core remover recommended if you have one) and backed the valve core back out and now it works great. 2007-05-31
