Cobb Grill
Excellent Grill. We cooked 4 rib eye steaks with 11 pieces of charcoal and could have cooked for another hour. This grill is everything it claims and more. We are very pleased. It cleans up easy and carries easily in the provided bag. 2008-06-15

Happy grilling
Lots of fun, great for the back yard and also for camping or picnics. I highly recommend it 2008-06-13

First results very favorable
For years we had used a folding, compact charcoal grill called a Pyromid. Unfortunately they went out of business and parts were no longer available so started considering alternatives. We had seen the Cobb grill previously in Camping World and had decided if we finally replaced our Pyromid, it would be with a Cobb. We got it a month ago and have cooked hamburgers, salmon filets and pork chops. The one thing we had to get used to is that the fire is a lot hotter than with the Pyromid and the salmon got a bit over cooked. Otherwise we are impressed with the unit.
As far as cleaning, what we do is remove all hot pieces of charcoal from the unit and let the ashes cool before dumping them out. We then soak both the moat and fire chamber and the grill in a pail of soapy water. By morning, the food comes off easily from the grill using a tuffy and an SOS pad on the moat unit. SOS also cleans the inside of the dome without soaking.
To start the fire, for years I've used 1/2 of a Coughlin Fire Stick available at Walmart or a camping store. It works just fine with the Cobb as well. Reusing charcoal from prior cooking also makes it start faster.
It isn't as compact as Pyromid but has some definite pluses and being less compact is the only minus. I do wish it was available in a 14 or 15 inch diameter as a 12 inch round grill has less cooking area than a 12 inch square grill as on the Pyromid

Cobb Grill great for small apartments
I gave this to my daughter for Christmas, she lives in a small apartment. She can use this on her deck, and it works perfectly for 2 people. The cooking serface is small, so you can't cook for many people. And word of WARNING, do not leave it outdoors, uncovered! It will rust the whole grill. :( 2008-04-19

Cobb grill
The Cobb grill easily lives up to the hype. Short story... This will be an item we always include for car camping. 20 mins and the coals are ready. Cooks for 2+ hours. 2.5 lb roast, 4 potatoes in the moat, veggies in foil. We are roughing it right? Doesn't pack down small enough for backpacking or kayaking, but who cares??? Cooking for 4 on a windy beach with no problems :) 2008-02-28
